Hunter was drafted by the Kansas City Royals, and was #1 in the 2013 MLB draft coming out of Stephen F. Austin State University. Hunter was a two sport star in high school before focusing on baseball in his college career. He was named Southland Conference Player of the Year in 2013.

• 2018: Hit .229 with 11 HR in 102 games in his first MLB season
