BIO

Yuli Gurriel AKA “La Piña” started his professional career in Cuba, winning a gold medal with the Cuban National team at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens. He continued to play in Cuba and Japan before making his 2016 major league debut with the Houston Astros, where he still resides. In his career with the Astros, Gurriel went on to become a World Series Champion in 2017 and was given the title of the 2021 Batting Champion of the American League, ending the season with a .319 average.
