BIO

Lourdes Gurriel Jr. started his professional career at just 16 years old. He debuted in the Cuban National Series for Sancti Spiritus in 2010. Throughout his career in Cuba, Lourdes went to win two gold medals, at the Central American and Caribbean Games and the World Port Tournament in 2014 and 2015 respectively. In 2016, he and his older brother, Yuli, left Cuba to play in the MLB. That same year, Gurriel signed a 7-year contract to play with the Toronto Blue Jays, making his major league debut in 2018.
