Can the G-Form Extreme Sleeve fit over the Smart Cover?
Thanks,

Thanks for your question. The iPad2 with the magnetic Smart Cover™ fits in the G-Form Extreme Sleeve™. The original iPad fits in the G-Form Extreme Sleeve™ without any cover.

May 16th UPDATE: Based on recent customer feedback, we learned that the Smart Cover on the iPad2 may slide upon insertion into the iPad Extreme Sleeve which may cause the iPad2 to wake up. Today G-Form is announcing the Extreme Sleeve™ 2, which is slightly larger and has more robust edge protection than the original Extreme Sleeve™. You can read more about it here.

Looks awesome.

Any plans to develop a case for using the iPad in extreme environments like a refinery plant where dropping or knocking may occur?

Thanks

    Kukaua,
Yes, we are testing prototypes that will allow the iPad to be protected while it is being used.

Saw your bowling ball drop video (impressive!) but am wondering if you can comment on the impact consequences of a drop on an edge or a corner of the sleeve? Are the corners reinforced?

    Marc/Erik,
The G-Form iPad Extreme Sleeve is designed to surround the iPad including the edges and the corners. We will have a video (shot horizontally) demonstrating this posted soon.

Is there a pair of grommets or hooks attached so a shoulder strap or carrying handle can be used with the case?

    admin
    April 8th, 2011 on 5:34 pm

    Hi Doug,
No, we do not currently have a pair of grommets or hooks attached to the sleeve for a shoulder strap or carrying handle. However, we think it’s a great idea and if more people are interested in a case like this we would make one.

Does the zipper get in the way of possibly scratching the screen when you put it in or take it out.

    admin
    April 8th, 2011 on 6:07 pm

    Hi Bob,
The zipper on the iPad Extreme Sleeve is out of the way and has a smooth finish so it will not scratch the screen when inserting or removing the iPad from the case.

Hi,

I noticed that when notebooks drop, most of the time they fall onto an edge.
That way I killed the display of an notebook.

Your Youtube clip shows a weight dropping onto the flat surface of the iPad.

What happens when an Extreme Sleeve covered iPad falls onto an edge ?

Thanks.

Can you briefly describe the interior lining of the iPad Extreme Sleeve?

Thanks

    admin
    April 8th, 2011 on 5:42 pm

    Hi Bukweet,
The interior lining of the Extreme Sleeve is made from a strong, soft, durable fabric. If you are concerned about your screen getting scratched, it will be protected.

Will you also be developing an iPhone cover/ case that will enable usage while still protecting?

Would be fantastic for corporate IT as staff don’t care about the gear they are presented with for their use.

    April 9th, 2011 on 6:59 am

    Hi Neil,
Yes, we have an iPhone cover that can be used and protected at the same time that is being tested right now. Follow us on Twitter or Like us on Facebook to be notified of new product releases.

This may have already been answered and I may have over looked it, but what is the inside material of the case ie microfiber or anything to keep it from being scratched in transit?

Hi, it says that the material is flexible, what’s the largest laptop it fits? My Lenovo ultraportable notebook is: 11.1″ x 8.25″ x 1.2″. Will your sleeve stretch out to fit this?

    Hi there,
The iPad Extreme Sleeve is made to fit the iPad and iPad2. We are planning on manufacturing cases for 13″, 15″ laptops and the MacBook Air.

Awesome! However i still have a few questions :

Does the Extreme Sleeve protect an iPad falling onto its edge/corner ?
What are the dimensions and added weight?

Great to hear there are Notebook cases in development. Looking forward to a MacBookPro17″ case!

        April 14th, 2011 on 12:22 pm

        Hi Bernstein,
Yes, the Extreme Sleeve can protect an edge drop. We just posted a video of an iPad dropped on it’s edge while protected by the Extreme Sleeve.
The iPad Extreme Sleeve weighs 0.46 lbs and is designed to fit devices no larger than 7.46” x 9.65” x .45” inches.

Interesting video – but can you make this NOT look like my winter tyres ( or like I painted my winter tyres yellow ) ? None of the Apple products look like the Transformers, why would I like accessories like that ?
Make it smooth, classy and tasteful like the iPad ! Then I buy.

@Matt…i’m sure your “guide to making something aesthetically pleasing was well intentioned, but i have to say, it sounds condescending to me….sending a designer a grocery list of things to do???
in all fairness, if you go to the site of the company, it seems most of the products have a similar design. it may be related to how it has to be manufactured to absorb the shock rather than passing the shock on to the contents. or, maybe not. either way, i would not buy it for the look but for the protection and it seems to fit in a small laptop bag anyway.
a bunch of us who watched the place demo did get a laugh from the post, though, and this guy is radically excited about what he sells…we like that!

I would like to know how much space there is in the sleeve in front or back of the device. I would like to put some protection on both front and back of the device but would want to be sure everything fits. I am interesting in a back that adds little bulk and size, maybe combined with the Apple magnet front cover.

    April 10th, 2011 on 1:38 pm

@randy: The Extreme Sleeve will fit the Smart Cover on an iPad2, or something similar. If your protection is the same size as a Smart Cover, it should fit fine. Thanks!

So, how light is the case? Is it easy and comfortable to grasp? One of the things I’ve noticed about the iPad 2 is that it’s so slim that I am always concerned about it slipping out of my hands when walking from A to B. Sleek design doesn’t always mean practical.

Thanks.
